An idea born from matter

OVO is an Art Design brand born from the synergy of Maurizio Orrico and Enrica Vulcano.

Even before it had a name, it came to life, as an idea and almost playfully, from experiments on metal oxidation carried out in relation to Maurizio's artistic research, and translated into the world of design thanks to Enrica's intuition: this was in May 2018.

OVO's first official work was the placemat created for LIBERI DENTRO, The Last Supper - Homage to Leonardo Da Vinci, a social art and design project, curated by Giacinto Di Pietrantonio, which involved great artists and designers.

Since 2021, OVO has participated in various trade fair exhibitions such as Maison et Objet, Ambiente Frankfurt, and Find Singapore Asia.

Two visions, one language

The two finally decided to combine their energies to create OVO, a perfect synthesis of art and design.

Visual artist

Maurizio Orrico

Maurizio Orrico is a visual artist: after his debut as a painter, he focused on analog and digital photography and the use of other expressive media such as sculpture, installation, and video art. He is among the founding members of the PSL (Pluri Sensorial Laboratory), a laboratory that has initiated continuous research into "presentation techniques," defined as an expansion of the sensory framework or spectrum. During his career, he participated in the Shanghai Expo, the 11th Venice Architecture Biennale, and the 54th Venice Art Biennale. His works have been displayed in numerous solo and group exhibitions and are now found in public and private spaces, both in Italy and abroad.

Designer

Enrica Vulcano

Enrica Vulcano, a design graduate of NABA, the New Academy of Fine Arts, soon came into contact with Maurizio, becoming his assistant and collaborator and working alongside him on numerous projects.
